Gemstones

The range of minerals found on and in the Earth is enormous, some are found as plain cubes, some take the form of amazing star or even sputnic shapes. Some may be quite dull and unexciting, others seem to glow with a vibrancy and luminosity all of their own.

Not all minerals however are commonly used as gemstones. A gemstone will often possess certain qualities, such as durability, hardness and a pleasing appearance, and of course it needs to be large enough to be seen. Some minerals occur in such minute quantities that a hand lens is needed to view them.

Listed below is a selection of gemstones, precious and semi precious, which we have used in our jewellery.

If you would like a particular stone set into a piece of jewellery and do not see it listed here, please let us know what it is and we will probably be able to source it for you.
